Educated at Eton College, he served as Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk 〔(News and Views from The Times and Sunday Times | Times Online )〕 from 2003 until 2014; Lord Tollemache served previously as Vice-Lieutenant of Suffolk since 1994 and was Deputy Lieutenant before that, since 1984. He is director of Fortis (UK), and is patron or president of several organizations and societies.〔(Lord-Lieutenant for Suffolk )〕 Tollemache was appointed Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (KCVO) in the 2015 New Year Honours.
